Care Packages

If you are dating or married to someone in the military then you know all about care packages, or at least that at some point in your relationship you will be sending them. Here are few tips and ideas from my experience with sending care packages.

Rules:
  •  Have fun with it, sending care packages shouldn't be stressful. Your man will appreciate what ever you send it doesn't have to be fancy or expensive, he's even going to love those stale cookies. Promise.
  • Send a hand written note/ letter with each one. There is something about getting a hand written letter that makes him feel even more loved.
  • Absolutely no alcohol. It is a big No No! Just don't do it, even if he begs haha.
  • Don't mix toiletries with snacks or you run the risk of his oreos tasting like Axe body wash.
Tips:
  • Don't send glass / breakable items if you need to for things like cake in a jar use bubble wrap!
  • Buy individual snacks not big bags. That way he can take them on the go, and he doesn't have to worry about sand getting into them.
  • Unless it is winter don't send chocolate it will melt.
  • Ask if his buddies want anything and add it to your mans next package. There are a lot of guys who won't receive anything and will really appreciate the gesture.
  • Send something homemade, cookies, a card, photo collage whatever sending him something that will remind him of home and how much you love him will surely brighten his day.
  • Don't forget to ask him what he wants!
  • Try to send food with substance like tuna and crackers or canned soups. There will be times when he is working late and won't have time to go to chow.

This is just a small list of things you can send over seas get creative with it and pretty soon you will have more goodies than you can stuff into one of those flat rate boxes.

Decorating the box:
This is completely optional and up to you. I personally love decorating the boxes and usually have a theme for each box I send. I add pictures, quotes and notes to the folding flaps of the box, and use tape for the pictures so he can save them for later.  Here are a few picture of past care packages I've sent, I'll be sure to post the new ones too.
1st care package I sent, Valentine's day themed :) I also made a love coupon book out of paint strips to go with it.

Saint Patricks day care package. I actually stent two boxes because I had bought so much stuff, and yes everything I sent was green. The Twizzler and chocolate coin rainbow says " you're my pot O' gold at the end of the rainbow"

Easter care package :) For this one I made a big paper machet easter egg and filled it with candy, I also found Camo easter eggs at Walmart for $1 and Individual things of Nutella!
